VolkerHighways awarded £17 million public realm schemes in Slough

VolkerHighways has been awarded two public realm schemes along the A4 on behalf of Slough Borough Council, totalling over £17 million over two years.

Slough

As part of Slough Borough Council’s initiative to improve sustainable transport across the region, VolkerHighways has been awarded a contract to construct a dedicated cycleway along the A4 corridor from the Bath Road/Huntercombe Lane North Junction to the Bath Road/Wexham Road Junction.

The business has also been awarded additional civils works along Farnham Road to improve the shopping district, making Farnham a more attractive place to live and visit. VolkerHighways will also construct a cycle link to connect the A4 Bath Road Cycleway.

The projects seek to enhance air quality by cutting pollution from car travel, promote active travel through safer pedestrian routes and uplift the overall look and feel of the environment.

“We are proud to support Slough Borough Council in advancing its sustainability ambitions through the delivery of active travel schemes. Our commitment is to create a lasting impact by collaborating with our supply chain to identify innovative, low carbon solutions that enhance infrastructure throughout the project. At the same time, we will actively engage with the local community to deliver meaningful social value initiatives that make a real difference.”
