VolkerHighways is working on a ten-year street lighting term maintenance contract for the Royal Borough of Kingston and London Borough of Sutton Councils.
The business will replace existing lighting with LEDs, helping to achieve energy savings for the councils, as well as a lower carbon footprint. More reliable lighting will contribute to improved safety for both residents and road users in Kingston and Sutton.
This contract expands the business’ lighting division, which will draw on its vast experience to deliver a comprehensive and high-quality service.
Councillor Ian Manders, Portfolio Holder for Climate Action and Sustainable Transport for the Royal Borough of Kingston, said:
“These new lights save power, save money, and save carbon emissions. They are a brilliant, green investment, with a rapid pay-back.”
