VolkerSmart Technologies is installing electric vehicle charge points (EVCP) in London, on behalf of Siemens for the Go Ultra Low City Scheme (GULCS), a programme by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles within the Department for Transport.
The scheme aims to encourage more people to consider switching to an electric car, to help improve air quality in urban hotspots, and assist the government in meeting its emission-cutting targets.
The team has been working with Siemens since 2019 and demonstrates VolkerSmart Technologies’ extensive experience in installing a range of charging points, safely and efficiently, in busy, public environments, whilst working alongside the Boroughs and Siemens to recommend the latest technology available and best value for money.
As the electrical infrastructure is already available in the lamp columns, this provides a cost-effective solution, allowing residents who do not have access to off-street parking, to easily charge their vehicle, close to home.
