VolkerHighways is working on a five-year lighting maintenance and improvement contract with Bath and North East Somerset Council.

The contract will see the installation of energy efficient lights and improved signage, helping to make the district more environmentally friendly and safer for residents. This contract follows VolkerHighways’ Highways Term Maintenance Contract with Bath and North East Somerset Council in April 2019.

VolkerHighways’ Highways Term Maintenance contract has helped to lay the foundations in showing our capability of providing high quality work, value for money and sustainability commitment to the communities we serve.

Maintenance of 18,000 lighting assets and 15,000 street lights
Upkeep of 2,500 illuminated signs and bollards
Capital works programme to replace existing street lighting columns
Signage and bollard upgrades
Replacement of approx. 2,000 street lights with LEDs
