The Gold Medal Award is presented to those organisations who have achieved five to nine consecutive RoSPA Gold Awards. VolkerHighways has won Gold Medal Awards for the last three years, as a result of achieving seven consecutive years of Gold Awards.

Phil Thomas, head of HSEQS at VolkerHighways collected the award on behalf of the business at a ceremony in the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, in July.

Phil said: “This is a fantastic result and I am extremely pleased that VolkerHighways has yet again received recognition from RoSPA, for the hard work being undertaken across all of our operations. To achieve seven consecutive Gold Awards really is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the dedication of our contractors and employees”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety and are held in high regard, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat. We congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year”.
