VolkerHighways' London Borough of Hackney Highways Term Maintenance Contract has received a British Safety Council International Safety Award with Merit for showing its commitment to improving health and safety.

BSC Award

The awards banquet took place at the Grosvenor House in London, on Friday 18th May 2012.

Adrian Shah-Cundy, head of HSEQS at VolkerWessels UK said: "This is a tremendous achievement and reflects highly upon the commitment of the project teams in the area of health and safety.  This is the first time we have entered all four organisations and what a great result.  Receiving these awards shows our continued commitment to the health and safety of our employees and all those we work with. Well done to all those involved."

To be awarded an International Safety Award with Merit, companies must provide evidence of initiatives that are making a real difference to health, safety and well-being of their workforces. The awards are open to both members and non-members and relate to the health and safety management at a particular site or business unit during the previous calendar year.
