Medway

VolkerHighways has a long-standing relationship with Medway Council, having worked with them since 2007. The business is currently working on a highways infrastructure contract with the council which has been running for five years.

The contract provides residents and road users of Medway with continuous highways maintenance services, and has the potential to be extended by a further five years. It also gives the business the opportunity to strengthen existing relationships across the council’s various communities.

The team will deliver both planned and responsive maintenance works, helping to create a safer environment for residents and visitors.

  • Planned and responsive maintenance
  • Carriageway and footway resurfacing
  • Winter maintenance
  • Drainage cleansing
  • Road markings
  • Street lighting
  • Capital schemes to improve the existing network
  • Regular maintenance and inspections of the Medway Tunnel

"VolkerHighways has provided us with a first class highways maintenance service in the past and we were pleased to award this current contract to them. It’s important that we look after roads in Medway to ensure the safe travel of residents and visitors."

Councillor Phil Filmer, portfolio holder for frontline services at Medway Council
