VolkerHighways awarded ICP works in Camden

Recent

In addition to carrying out the lighting maintenance works for London Borough of Camden, VolkerHighways have been successful in winning a further contract to complete a ticket machine removal programme. The works will include Independent Connection Provider (ICP) connections and disconnections, removal and reinstatement of 811 ticket machines and it is due to be complete by March 2015.

ICP

VolkerHighways has been carrying out planned lighting maintenance and electrical project work for London Borough of Camden since 2012, including other parking meter disconnections. The planned maintenance works include column and sign replacement, tunnel and architectural lighting as well as live connections.

VolkerHighways achieved Full Accreditation by the Lloyd’s Register EMEA under the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) in early 2013. The accreditation shows that VolkerHighways has demonstrated the competence to project manage and subcontract work to ICPs who are NERS registered.

Since receiving the accreditation, VolkerHighways has completed various ICP works across the South of England including 700 lighting column connections in Peterborough and 1000 lighting column connections in Barking & Dagenham as part of their energy saving schemes to help reduce their carbon footprint. VolkerHighways has also completed various illuminated street furniture connections in West Berkshire.

David Easton, lighting business manager at VolkerHighways said: “Since achieving the NERS accreditation through Lloyds, we have developed a broader range of services to meet the changing needs of our clients and technology within the lighting industry. This has created both administrative and financial benefits for all parties as well as improving the public perception of a professional service delivery.”
