Fordham Park

As part of the London Borough of Lewisham's regeneration programme, VolkerHighways carried out the £1.75m refurbishment of Fordham Park.

The project comprised both hard and soft landscaping used to provide a natural play environment consisting of rocks and boulders, stepping stones, balancing beams, and sensory planting.  VolkerHighways also installed specialist street lighting to the underpass and general lighting to the open spaces including different coloured lights to match the different coloured routes through the park.

Madhur Gurjar, landscape architect for the London Borough of Lewisham lives locally to the park and praised the finished project saying: "From a dull patch of green where there was nothing much to do, you have transformed this place where there is something for a range of age groups. I particularly appreciate having "rooms" of activities around the park while maintaining area in the centre for active sports."
